Wim Hof Workshop 2025

What exactly is the Wim Hof Method?

The Wim Hof Method combines deep breathing, gradual cold exposure and mindfulness practice to help regulate your mood and reset your physiology to its optimum state.

Developed by Dutchman Wim Hof, the method originated as a way for him to cope with the trauma of losing his wife, who died by suicide after they had four children together. He discovered that by submerging himself in ice-cold water—after preparing with specific breathing techniques—he could find peace and begin to heal from his emotional wounds.

At the time, he didn’t fully understand why this practice had such a profound effect on his physical and mental well-being. However, over the past few decades, he has participated in numerous scientific studies to demonstrate the method’s power and gain deeper insight into its effects on the mind and body.

What are the health benefits of the Wim Hof Method?

The growing list of health benefits includes:
• Alleviating symptoms of depression, fatigue, and chronic pain
• Reducing stress and anxiety
• Boosting your immune system
• Decreasing inflammation and improving circulation
• Improving sleep quality and reducing insomnia
• Breaking bad habits, including drug addiction and dependency
• Speeding up recovery from injury and muscle soreness
• Increasing tolerance to pain and cold (pain threshold)
• Enhancing athletic and sporting performance

What is a Certified WHM Fundamentals Workshop?

Whether you are looking to improve mental or physical performance, relieve symptoms related to an illness, or are just curious to find out what the Wim Hof Method is all about — a Wim Hof Method Fundamentals Workshop offers something for everyone.

The program generally kicks off with an introduction to the Wim Hof Method followed by a breathing session and an (optional) ice bath. During the workshop there is ample room for reflection and to answer questions you have about the method.

For most, Wim Hof Method training is a game-changer and has now been scientifically proven to have many health benefits for the body and the mind.

About Mathew Scott

Mat is a highly experienced instructor who has personally spent time alongside Wim, testing his limits in the cold and learning from the master himself.

He has been practicing the method since 2017 and teaching across Sussex since 2020. Now, he’s on a mission to empower people to take control of their health using these simple, proven, and natural techniques.

After experiencing severe burnout due to chronic stress in 2017, Mat turned to the Wim Hof Method as a tool for recovery—and he still uses it today to optimize both his body and mind.

He firmly believes that all health starts with the mind. When your mind is clear and content, you make better decisions and are far more likely to achieve your health and fitness goals—whatever they may be.
